Corrupted SD card folder

Postby silver on Sat Jan 31, 2009 3:31 pm

One of my map folders has become corrupted and thus the system is unable to read the data. As such the folder can not be deleted or copied back over. Also tried formatting the card (in a card reader) but I keep getting a message that the card is in use? Any ideas please. The SD card is a ScanDisk Ultra 2 16GB.

Its possible that the card is stuffed (technical term for not working any more!). SANDISK will cover it under its five year warranty but that s a return to place of purchase for a claim.

As for the contents, do you still have the original 2GB card? if so copy that to your new 16GB card. Again your place of purchase for your HN should be able to help you here.

After some further attempts I have been able to get checkdisk to run on another PC & this appears to have fixed the problem. After this the lost files have been successfully recovered from the original 2GB card.
If the problem return I will follow up the warranty claim, thanks for the advice.
