Vehicle Mount & Comprehensive Manuals

Postby dreamon on Mon Jul 06, 2009 9:09 am

Does anyone know where I can buy another vehicle mount for the windscreen as the plastic circle piece which holds the spring in has perished in the sun. Also is there anywhere you can download a comprehensive manual for the Hema as I am not using mine to its full potential.

I suggest you contact your retailer about the mount issue.

As far as I know no other mounts from other manufacturers eg RAM. are available.

Maunals, try http://www.hemanavigator.com.au/support.html

Hi Dreamon. About more comprehensive manuals, you will find not very much out there to cover the more in depth use of this unit and there are a lot of things it can do. You will eventually end up searching the Oziexplorer help and their pdf manual. For novices I find it difficult to understand the technical terms and does not cover certain functions at all. I find creating maps is too complicated for me so I have copied all of the HN maps to the Ozi maps folder they are all calibrated and also match what is already in the HN. The HN manual covers most things but not all, I think the best way is post questions on this forum regarding what you want to know or what it can do. As far as Route 66, there is a lot of confusing info in their instruction manual and I find it hard to remember where they hide things in the menus, for example--Plan a new Trip-- To Plan a route. Or can you even create a route using the cursor other than how it wants to send you, by using the stylus on the HN. Personally I think Memory map is a waste of time, they use Hema mapping and couldn't even use their better mapping system. I have learned to use Ozi explorer full PC version to do basic things which has made things a lot easier, and because the HN uses Ozi functions in the 4x4 mapping it has made it worth while. Les
