Route 66 ???

Postby Les Addison on Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:12 pm

Where have the satellites gone?? My HN works beautifully on 4x4 mapping and accesses the Sats easily and quickly, but on R66 it takes about 15 -20 mins to find them, I have gone into R66 for any upgrades apparently it's all up to date. Recently had Hema map upgrade(which I might add is brilliant) shouldn't think this would have any effect, any clues???. Les

I have used it over the last two days on a trip to Townsville and the only way to access the Sats is to open R66 then do a reset, even then it takes too long. If 4x4 mapping is turned on, and then when R66 is required The HN R66 has to be reset for it to access the Sats. If R66 is exited or not and the HN is turned off, on re start it will access the Sats ok as long as 4x4 mapping is not used :? Les

Brian, yes reset button at rear of unit. This is the only way that R 66 will access the Sats. I feel there has been a file corruption causing this after the map set was updated. I will contact Hema to sort it out and keep the forum informed. Les

Well here is a turn up for the books. I have discovered if you exit the 4x4 mapping by the red cross and quit method, then open R66, the Satellites are accessed normally and quickly. Then to exit R66 , use the red square and cross to exit application. Do not use exit button on top of HN. Les

Sounds like the last used program is in fact still running in the background and hence not releasing the GPS com port.

cheers
