Updating OziExplorerCE

Updating OziExplorerCE

Postby silver on Sat Jun 20, 2009 10:16 pm

OzieExplorer web site is routinely updating the OzieExplorerCE file that Hema Navigator uses.
What is the best way to go about updating the files, as reading the Ozi site details it is not clear which file should be used to update the Navigator. Is it best to update the SD card from a card reader and not via the navigator.

New version of OziExplorerCE must be downloaded from the Ozi website. Once the folder is unzipped, the only file needed is OziExplorerCE.exe. This is then copied to Navigator using Acticesync. The version to replace is not on the card, it's in the navigator in a folder called HNOZI

You need the .exe out of
wince_core_runtime_arm.zip

from

Following the suggestions to update .exe file only is good, but I have stuck a snag in copying the file over. As HN will not accept a file via copy & paste or drag & drop, Acticesync is running and files can be copied from HN but not to the unit. What am I missing, or should the file be copied in another way?

No error message, as the cursor is moved from the copy directory to the HN files it changes from a “+” to the "circle and diagonal line". When using copy and paste process, once over the HN directory the paste text becomes grey. All resulting in no copied file.

When updating do you need to delete the existing OziExplorerCE.exe file before installing the new .exe file.

When the Hema has been updated what are the changes from 2.19 to the latest version. It is hard to work out from OziExplorers web site what the new features would be as only the file OziExplorerCE.exe is copied to the Hema.

You can find the latest screen design to suit v2.31 here:

http://www2.gpsoz.com.au/downloads/hema/par1.zip

unzip it, copy it to the navigator in a folder called HNOZI. Open it the HN and go for it.

Adds buttons for 3D and track up mode.
