Hi All,

I have a few questions
1.What is involved in using OziExplorer wth this unit?
2.Will that then allow use of my existing Ozi maps?
3.Can OziExplorer & the supplied mapping software be used alternately without reloading or removing?

Different SD card with the folder name and .exe file names changed to that to match MM filenames.

2.Will that then allow use of my existing Ozi maps?
Yes

3.Can OziExplorer & the supplied mapping software be used alternately without reloading or removing?
No, one card with MM, one with Oziexplorer. Why do you want to swap back and forth?

cheers

OK thanks.

Whst do you mean that you have to chenge file names to MM??

I have lots of Oziexplore maps and this is the reason of switching back and forth.

The Off Road Navigation menu option is hard coded to run \sdcard\topogps\topogps.exe
so if you want to run oziexplorer on your touring you must set up the SD card to be exactly the same as the one that is issued with the touring. ie you need to change the oziexplorer folder name and .exe name to match that of the MM card. Once done you do not need to change anything else including map names on your new oziexplore sd card.

Why not change over to OziExplorer and forget MM seeing that you already have an investment in OziExplorer?

Brian

I am a new owner of a 4.3 inch VMS touring GPS. I am interested to know how to run Oziexplorer on the unit. Where can I get a reliable download and how do I set it up on a SD card ?

You can download a trial version of OziExplorer from www.oziexplorer.com. Make the changes mentioned above and you should be good.

Why do you want to change? MemoryMap is very good.

No issues. I did this and the VMS won't accept the card and shos up 'mobilenavigator.exe' error. From what I can see, it doesn't recognize the ozi topo program ??

Can you save OziExplorerCE to the device or do you have to run OziExplorer from the SD card?

Its not so much the program its more the maps. Not enough space on the unit to store maps.
