Hema navigator can't locate maps

Postby Motley on Sun Jun 21, 2009 11:10 am

Hi,

I have recently loaded a lot more maps on the SD card for my Hema Navigator prior to an extended trip. I put the SD card in a card reader attached to my PC and loaded the new maps and took the opportunity to rearrange the folders in the "OziExplorer Maps" folder. All my maps are in a series of subfolders which I have named - Hay River CD, Natmap Digital maps 2008 etc etc. I then put the SD card back in the Hema Navigator and I have set the Map File Path to \SDMMC\OziExplorer Maps.

Problem now is that OziExplorer can't find any maps! If I manually load a map for current location, it works fine. If I try to find maps at cursor position, it only finds the currently loaded map. If I drive out of the coverage of the current map I get white screen.

Help!!

Hi Motley,If you haven't loaded your maps with their two files (map file and ozf2 file) The HN won't recognize them. Make sure you name each map then Use the map conversion tool from Oziexplorer and convert your maps to either ecw or ozf format and copy them into the HN SDMMC Ozi maps, General Maps folder. PS don't put them in folders just individual pairs. Les

Les, Thanks for your response but problem solved! It seems that the version of OziExplorerCE that comes with the navigator looks for a fixed file structure where the maps are held - Australia 250K, Hema General & Hema Regional. The choices are to use one or all of these folders to hold maps or to upgrade to the latest version of OziExploreerCE which removes the restriction on folder structure. I chose the latter. Used ActiveSync to upgrade OziExplorer and all maps are now found (in my folders)!
