GMapMaker

Postby ad1 on Wed May 06, 2009 9:16 pm

Hi all,
I have been able to load maps from GMapMaker into the HN after converting them to ozf. One of the options in GMapMaker is terrain maps. It appears that the maximum zoom possible is 15 which I have converted to ozf and viewed in oziexplorer, but when loaded into the HN the map is blank. Has anyone been able to load a terrain map into the HN from GMapMaker?

Any tips much appreciated.

Hello - a number of possible issues. Don’t think it has anything to do with the fact it is a terrain map though. Works fine for me after initial download on PC Ozi so this eliminates "terrain map" issue as at this stage of the game it’s just a png image (i.e. origin irrelevant). Maybe try downloading again.

I actually don’t have a HN so can’t try but have had initial load issues with GMapMaker images on some devices solved by rebooting unit.
Another possible issue is the calibration file (*.map) which some programs don’t compile properly. If you have PC Ozi use “File – Check calibration of map” and then “Save” to ensure proper map file format.

Cheers

Thanks Greg

Once converted to ozf, I did what you suggested - opened it in PC oziexplorer, checked calibration and saved again and then it could be viewed on the HN.
