"Corrupted" Ozi cfg files

Postby Dreamweaver on Sun Aug 02, 2009 10:21 pm

I have learnt a lot from this forum and hope you can help one more time.
I've recently had the SD card from my 3000 Mk2 upgraded (by a supplier well known to this forum) to include Ozi CE. It's worked well (after being a bit tentative about keeping the rego codes for a few times) but now hangs when " loading configuration files" or somesuch.
I've tried backing up the card when I got it and after this latest episode (having read the posts on this forum) and my XP box has insisted the cfg files are "corrupted".
Are these files unusual in format? Is there a quick fix to this dilemma or am I at the mercy of Australia Post while I send it back to Sydney for a reload?
Many thanks

Jack, I am trusting it isn't the SD card configueration files when I say you can download a new install. If it is the SD card, you would need to send the card back, but I guess the navigational software is working?

If it isn't you can go download from http://www.oziexplorer.com and chose to go to the OziCE page on the left hand menu. Download the lower one for PDA/PND for wince_core_runtime_arm.zip, which is the one for the VMS. You would need to unzip the file to your OziCE directory on the SD card. Keep a copy on your hard disk though. You may need to select to run the particular program file from the GPS console, to reinstall it. The reinstall should pick up all the codes and system files you have on the card.

If you are uncomfortable with that, talk to a friend who is capable with PDAs and software. The system is generally very good. You shouldn't have to reload you rego codes, but I expect your supplier would have them on file for you anyway. I make sure I keep mine around.

Good luck with it
John

Thanks very much John - I'll give that a try.
(Yes the street nav is still working; I haven't tried going back to MM yet)
Cheers

I have the card here and its very strange. Looks like all the CFG files have been corrupted but strangely windwoes won;t allow you to delete them. So I have formatted the card, reloaded and all is looking good.

cheers
