Aviation Maps

Questions, answers and general discussion about OZtopo - Australian Topographical maps for Garmin GPS units

Aviation Maps

Postby lightstorm3576 on Mon May 04, 2009 3:46 pm

Are you guys able to make a version with aviation maps to be uploaded to Garmin Nuvi GPS units?
A lot of recreational pilots are buying windows based units and installing Oziexplorer but the interface button are small and require a stylus,
and the screen is not readable in bright / direct sunlight like a garmin 760
I have used a Garmin Nuvi unit with OZtopo on it and it easy to use.
So a product with Aviation maps may be a hit for those recreational pilots that can add to their existing Garmin product.
Maps from here may be used? http://www.maptrax.com.au/c/149725/1/av ... harts.html

Thes maps are the maps people seem to buy for Oziexplorer

We dont need full blown aviation gps units to do the basics recreatonal flyers generally require. we still rely on paper charts for the inportant things

Anybody else with any ideas

Cheers
